Colonoscopy

Prof. Gilmore has performed many thousands of colonoscopies. Colonoscopy is a common procedure performed under sedation,  you won't remember it.

If you require a colonoscopy for a positive stool test for blood (the Government Bowel Cancer Screening Program) we will ensure your important colonoscopy is performed quickly. Fortunately the overall chance of cancer in that situation is only 6%, but precancerous benign polyps are likely. The waiting time for public colonoscopy is short, in Prof Gilmore's practice.

In addition to performing routine screening colonoscopy he performs complex EMR polyp removal  for larger flat polyps (to avoid the need for colectomy). Colonoscopy has a risk of bowel injury,  fortunately this happens in well under one per a thousand procedures in Prof Gilmore's practice.
